that auction is a total crock! your bid will be added to the MSRP, then this guy will order one for you, any way you want it, the first picture IS NOT the car that is up for auction, look at the #of cylinders = don't know, GT coupe or deluxe, color = other, color of interior = other, what a jerk :notnice:

I love looking at the dealership pics -- trying to pretend it's the car I ordered and that it's sitting in the dealership just like that...

How DID they get it anyways? I was hoping it was an "excellent" photoshop, but looks real enough. Maybe the Mustang "tour" of the USA stopped by and let them park it inside for this single photo-op. Hmmmm.

Total rip off. Why would ANYONE pay more than MSRP? Why would anyone PAY MSRP?!

The current bid is $2.25. I hope that is all he gets over MSRP. We should deluge him with emails about how wrong this auction is.

I hope the guy gets scammed.

Folks like that should be taken out back and horse whipped for an hour or so. The sad thing is someone will probably fall for it and spend big bucks to get what the dealer should do anyway.

This is what I wrote them:

"What a JERK!!! You and folks like you are the reason nobody trusts car salesmen. It might be acceptable if you actually HAD the car before the release date but FMC would step on your neck for that. The fact that 2 people have bid on this is proof that some people are just stupid. Hope you get scammed for a couple of thousand AND get fired. If you are the owner of the dealership I hope you lose your shirt and end up living under a bridge somewhere.

Paul"

I should have extended the "living under a bridge" part to anyone involved in this but I was to mad to think of it. Oh well, time to go have a smoke and coffee break and calm down.

I was at that dealership two weekends ago, Rancho Santa Margarita Ford in Orange County, at a Mustang show they were sponsoring. They were displaying that '05 in the showroom at the time. It's a pre-production '05, with a manual transmission.

Thats cool BUT, they aren't selling that car. They are selling a chance to pre-order an '05 of your choice at your bid ABOVE MSRP. Total rip off.

i agree that the final deal is a rip off, but at least the terms are stated and the person making the bid is aware of the final deal. Ebay is just another means for striking up a deal, where the buyer is "in control" of the final price. Sure they could get a much better deal somewhere else, but...it's the buyer's decision.

Great email pbford. Surely Ebay will pull the listing for violation of terms. This deserves a kick in the ding ding
