'05 Mustang & Shelby power Tour

Mustang F/X in Tallahassee, Florida, is organizing a Mustang & Shelby Power Tour that will leave Tallahassee on June 23, 2005, and transverse some 6,500 miles across 18 states.

Mustang F/X's goal for the trip is to raise $500,000 for the Carroll Shelby Children's Foundation and to show off its new 2005 Tribute Edition Shelby GT500 Eliose Mustang Prototype.

If you preregistar by April 15, 2005, it is $150. All regitrations received after April 15, 2005 is $200. Only 2,000 registrations will be accepted.

Should Mustang F/X reach its goal of 1,500 participants, it plans to give away one of its '05 tribute Edition Shelby GT500 Eloise Mustang Coupes in a special drawing to one of the preregistared participants.

So its $150 (donated) to join the drive then another $700 in gas to complete it?

They should get gas stations along the route to donate a % of the money they make with all the Mustangs coming through.

 

That's what I thought at first.... but I think the 'drive' is actually the Shelby touring around that distance showing itself off and raising money.....

 

Just a heads up. The GT500 tribute edition is not the new Shelby for summer 06. It is a Mustang GT that they add their "special" package to make it a tribute edition. I looked at the site a few months back and saw this add. That said, suppossedly you do get a certificate signed by Shelby stating that it is a true shelby auto.

Still worth seeing at one of their stops, and a very worthy cause.
