Question 05 GT500 parts on a 09 base V6

I have a chance to buy these 2005 GT 500 parts very cheap, a standard set of GT front and rear springs, a set of front struts and rear shocks along with a front sway bar from a GT500 (brand new take-off) stock GT rear mufflers (off a car with 15K km) My question is Will these suspension parts fit my 2009 Base V6 Convertible? Also as for the mufflers, I am planning on running duals on my V6. Will the mufflers work? Any information would a great help, before I put out any cash for parts that I may or may not be able to use.

Thanks in advance

True that.

Not sure what you ended up getting but you might want to post part numbers if they're available and see if somebody here can help you ID them.

You might have got parts off a regular GT, rather than a GT500....

I rechecked the e-mail from the fellow that has these parts, here it is in part:

"Forgot to mention, I also have, but haven't posted yet, a standard set of GT front and rear springs, stock GT rear mufflers (off a car with 15K km) and a set of front and rear shocks and struts along with a front sway bar from a GT500 (brand new take-off)."

I bought a rear GT bumper cover from him. I was just assuming GT 500 for everything he has. I'm a rookie when it comes to Mustangs.

Thanks for the help.

That's correct. The GT500 wasn't offered until 2007. That's when the body received some upgrades to handle the additional power of the 5.4L engine. Even the V6 has the body enhancements, but at additional weight over the 05-06 models.

Well, I bought everything from him. The parts are from a GT500. The struts part # is 7R3V-18045-GB Shocks part # 7R3V-18080 The tag was ripped off the sway but, it is a heavy one with 2 mounting holes on each side. From some research I did GT500 sway bars have 2 holes per side. I also got the rear GT bumper, spoiler and the 2 mufflers all for $200.00. Mind you I had to drive 2 hours each way to pick them up in my 2011 5.3 liter GMC 4X4. About $80.00 in fuel. So now my question is: What kind of ride can I expect when I change out the struts, shocks and sway bar on my 09 base Convertible?

Don't put the springs from a GT 500 on the V6, they raise the ride height about 1/4 to 3/8 of an inch. The struts will do wonders for the handling though. I have them on my 2005 V6 coupe, you will love it. Have fun installing the goodies.
