On Friday my dealer told me that my GT was built, cleared, and waiting for transportation. My VIN is 04687.

Of course, two weeks ago he told me it was on a train.

I ordered in early August.

Apropos to this, I see that my car is now listed in my dealer's inventory. I gave him a call and a sales guy said that means it should be here within two weeks.

someone on this site got his with IUP
there is a delay, but that doesn't mean they are not producing any. Just not producing them at the speed the orders were coming in.

Depends on how the dealer placed the order. In theory it should only show retail, but if the dealer ordered it as retail, then it would be there.

This very day as my husband and I were out hunting the perfect 04(yes we found it) I casually asked about the 05....From the first dealer, the snakey creepy one...

The salesman told me:

there will be no more IUP packages EVER! IF you didn't order it WAY back then you will NEVER EVER EVER GET IT AGAIN. Naturally I gotta call BS, but I thought I'd check......

True or untrue?

I was of course aware they were on HOLD, But I have been told by the snakes- DONE NO MORE NEVER FOREVER.........

Anyone?

I don't know but why would they offer a trim package and four weeks later drop it. Its not like its an item that is unsafe or technically isn't going to work. Even if the demand was higher than expected, then crank up the supplier and or raise the option price to slow demand. To drop a trim package would be surprising and something I never heard of before. Oh buy the way I ordered that package three weeks ago and the system accepted it. He just knows if you order now without it the order will be filled without delay and he can turn the sale faster.

Total BS.....It's hard to believe some salespeople are so far out of touch with reality

I have no issue with a supply shortage.......But straight up telling me ford scrapped the IUP- COME ON! Thats one of the huge selling points.

Straight up BSING me and then wanting to argue with me about it, Trust me I wanted to, but the hubby drug me off the car lot.

I think he wanted you to purchase an 04? Are you buying an 04 now?
Yes, but not from that dealer...
This dealer, I REALLY like the salesman I deal with, but the dealership is crap- overmarked cars(come on, a 2001 mustang vert there for $15,000......I can get an 04 under warranty for that) sleazy salesmen.....just not a place you want to buy from.
The dealer I am buying from is Long Lewis in Hoover Al- they don't work on commission and are a fixed price no haggle. The prices kick- pretty close to invoice, and none of the sleaze I have found elsewhere.
I should clarify- my husband is buying an 04. I get use till I get mine next year.

cool, congratulations ELeanorsmine. just got back from dealer with the weekly order listing showing Temp Delay on the IUP package is in fact still in effect, one of the dealers said it might be gone in a week, take that for what it's worth though... I used to think that this waiting thing was alright... not so much anymore... I want it NOW.

Lighten up grant, not sure when you became the appointed "forum ****" but its getting old.

A simple "search first" comment is enough for the new people, no need to be a jerk.
I agree with Mellow Yellow, Grantsdale. That is why we are all here, to be part of a community and find information.

The forum guidlines tell people to do search for their question first. The purpose of that is to prevent the board from becoming repetitive and boring. But I haven't seen Brad or any other admin flame someone who asks a good faith question. Even if that question had been answered some where in the depths of the board.

There is also a guideline to be respectful and not to insult fellow members. Take it easy, and remember, "If you don't have something nice to say, say nothing at all."

My status as of yesterday is Unscheduled/Clean. I know the next step is to get a VIN. My question is, Can the IUP hold be applicable to my order in the clean status? Can the status move from Unschedule/Clean to Material Hold, or clean status means it will be picked and sent to the plant for production?

Please clarify.

Mine went from Unscheduled/Clean to Submitted and VIN Friday 10/15/04 with IUP - but I still don't have a build week.

My dealer said the IUP is being kept at 19% DNE (do not exceed) on all Mustang GT models.
