05-09 vs 10-14 Auto Trans Shifters
Does anyone know if the shifters are interchangeable between the different S197 versions? Say one from a 10-14 in to a 05-09 car? The T handle in my 08 just looks kinda blah to me compared to the next version. I'm sure I could find one in a junkyard and swap it if the cable/linkage hookups and bolt down are all the same. Anyone know or tried it before?

I personally do not know if they are completely compatible. The easier thing to do is just go to a bone yard like you say and see what happens.
But I also personally do know that with a dremel, drill, hammer, and maybe some bondo or a welder or something, I can *absolutely* stick a '67 truck column shifter on Awesome and make it work. So I'm bettin' this thing would be really easy with those tools.
Don't be skeert. Worst case should be it don't fit and you put it all back, unless'n you sit there and start to actually dremeling, then you gotta make it fit, way to go you.
/Dangit, now I wanna 5 speed on the tree. I mean, who else would have one on a S197, right?
//Supplemental of course. Think paddle shifters only stupider.

05-10 versus 11-14 have different transmissions, so I doubt the shifter would be compatible, but not sure

Shifter is not compatible. It sits in a slightly different position and the console around it is different also. Been tried before. Surprisingly only a few things swap from 09 to 10 models.
Door speaker covers, sunvisors, outside mirrors, wheels, tires and underpinning, but interior and body are off enough for things to not swap cleanly.
There is a link on this forum about this swap. I haven't been here in a few years, but the link was there before. A guy tried to do the full interior swap. Not a good fit in his pictures.

My car is a '07. If you want to use the shifter from a '10 you'll need to change the center console from that year.
I put in the shifter from a '10 but then changed the **** from a '14 cause I didn't like the look of it.

And the e brake handle from what I gather. Thanks for the info. A lot of trimming to make the console to fit, how much effort was it to actually hook the shifter and e brake up?

Yes the parking brake as well.
Hooking up the shifter wasn't that bad. IIRC I had to go under the car to connect it. But I could be wrong as I did this in 2014.
