05-09 Rocks!! Disappointed in 2010
I really did not like the 2010's when the first came out, but am warming up to them more and more each day. We just received a '10 Premium GT coupe in Candy Red with the 19" Wagon Wheels - that color and those wheels look awesome together. I only like those wheels on a few colors, and I seldom like reds, but those wheels on that red look great. I'm also really liking the Sterling Grey and Grabber Blue on the 2010's.
I can't justify trading in my '07 GT for a '10. My wife would shoot me. Besides, I've got 450hp on tap vs the 315hp from the '10, so I'd have to start modding all over again.
The interior of the '10 is much better than the 05-09, which in itself is a nice interior. The rear end of the '10 is finally starting to make sense to me and I like it now (the plastic chunk/diaper between the tailpipes still needs a restyle, however). I love the hood, side view, and optional equipment choices. Lots to like in the '10, even though I didn't think I would ever say that!

I think once the new drive trains come out you will hear much less *****ing. Could be the best drive train line up to date. With the improved quality and better interior i think the little things people are *****ing about will be negated. When the GT is out there running high 12's for 30K and you can be pushing close to 500hp with bolt ons will we still be *****ing about the black plastic and rear? Im not a fan either but this might just be enough to be driving a '11 GT next summer. I love my 08 but with the new drivetrains it will be well worth the swap.
I am already planing to buy a 2011 with the new 5.0. That does not mean I enjoy the ghetto butt. The ricers and camaro people behind me will have to deal with the sin that is the 2010 rearend. I bought my 2009 mustang gt about 5-6 months ago but im already in the black with its value and by the time my 2011 hits the showroom I will be a few grand into the green.
Not yet . . . no one is really taking personal shots at anyone and most everyone is on topic. Usually these threads die or as you suggested, become locked. (I will let thread slide until morning and see how our TMS night owls manage their respective posts in this thread.)
Perhaps with the loss of many threads people aren't aware of the NUMEROUS 'like vs dislike' 2010+ threads that had been posted . . . . here's hoping we don't get too many of those back.

You need the '10 GT500 to give you the WOW factor when its driving down the street. When you see the Camaro and Challenger like them or hate them you take notice. You see the '10 GT and V6 you really dont even notice them because they seem to blend with the rest of the cars on the road unless you are right up on them. The GT500 stands out like the other 2 but you have to spend 50K to be noticed from the pack.

I own a 2005 Mustang GT that has just under 48,000 miles on the odometer. I ordered the car in October 2004 and took delivery on December 28, and still love the car.
In the past as soon as a new model came out I would trade my old car for the new car...but not this time.
While I like the new features of the 2010 (the interior is nice and I really like the navigation system) the body style doesn't do anything for me.
I've already done some things to my 2005 (custom interior, rousch front bumper and deep dish chrome bullitt wheels), so I decided to keep my current car.
Maybe when the next model comes out in a few years I'll think about buying a new Mustang if I like the new car. If not, I'll keep my 2005.

Ghettobutt! I love it!!
Thanks for all the replies! As the OP I can say I'm not jealous of the 2010 at all! I honestly think they took a great car and made it just a little worse. Yes, I love the interior like everyone else, but it's just that momentary thought of "did they really mean to do that?" when I see the back end of the 10.
Perhaps it was done to compete with the Camaro and Challenger, but...well...

compared to the 05, those pics from those angles, I'd call it a draw. from the 'other' angles not shown though, i'd suspect the 05 would still be a bit more popular...but that is one sweet looking mustang package!
the last pic just still hasnt grown on me...wish it would, love the rest of the car/color/trim/wheels- thats all great. if only there was a aftemarket option for the back, that could be close to the top of my list of 'IMO best looking mustangs'.
trying not to bash the back end, its just the 'non-retro' look/'more modern' look/'contemporary' look/'european' look/whatever else its been referred to just isnt my cup of tea- I'm sure theres folks equally excited about it, equally unimpressed by the bland/squared/plain/retro whatever 05 styling exercise- but to me it just clicks. I guess its just be glad tastes vary, or we'd all be driving the exact same car, and how boring would that be

personally i think these hate threads are stupid. i call it being jealous whether any of you care to admit it or not.. if ya dont like it dont buy it, plain and simple so stop *****ing about it. how many hate threads has it been now?? come on, im sure theres better things to post about.
This is a great post about his reasons for liking and not liking the 2010. Good info. You rock!!! (I cut it short, it was long, go check it out)

The GT IMO just doesnt look right (exterior), but the interior is nicer. I also really like the look the 6 banger, they look so much better from the 05-09's.
