I bet it's the IAC. Pretty common on fords. Pretty cheap and very easy. Right on front of the throttle body. Has a tube going to the intake hose as well as a two wire elect plug

I have the same problem and mine (2000GT) is definitly the IAC. All i have to do it tap on it and the idle comes right back up. Have someone keep the car idling and tap on it sometimes it will unstick and go back to normal. That is only a temp fix though.
My fathers SN95 had the exact same issue and once it was replaced it was good to go. I haven't done mine yet.
about a $50 part.

Here it is on the motor

you can get the part from Advanced auto or similar. Don't get it from ford it will cost you almost 3 times the price.
It's got a little electric selenoid on it and that can crap out.

Did you retrain the computer after? You have to do that, it 'learns' to deal with the dirty TB, so you have to unlearn it.

Seafoam can be found at most auto parts stores....unhook a vacuum line and let the suction suck about half the bottle into the intake. Then shut off the car. Let sit about 30 mins then take it for a high revving drive. It cleans everything on the intake side including valves and combustion chambers. I do a seafoam treatment every 3rd oil change. If you put 1/3 of the can in your intake vacuum line.1/3 in the oil and 1/3 in the gas it cleans everything. It dissolves sludge in the crankcase...and I suggest doing it at night. The smokeshow that comes from the tailpipe after you do the intake is unreal. I have done back to back seafoam treatments just to see if it's the seafoam that causes the smoke or if it's carbon and crap and after the second try there was almost no smoke or tailpipe crud so it has made a believer out of me....and when I did my crankcase I changed the oil about 500 miles later and there were actual chunks of crud that came out....my car runs as good as new... And it cleans parts to like new shape
