You could probably change those items out by trading with someone, and then it'd be fairly "cheap" to do, just the time to do it.
Seems like to just fix those three things, you'd take a bath selling and then rebuying.

If you got a good price on that and could get a decent price on a new one id do that. you could even make money, some rich kid would probably like that thing the way it is.
Get a new one.
Get a new one.

but i could get those parts for about at most 2500$ and i could sell the anniv. ed for atleast 15k becuase most of them are going for 16-19k....and i'm not planning to buy another 35th anniv. just a 2001 GT and have some money do do some things that i would really want to do.

I still think you *MIGHT* be able to find someone to swap with you. Outside of that, I'd fix her up right and sell her, if they are really going for that much.

I don't know who would pay that much? Where i live; and when I bought my 04 40th anniversay gt, I got em down to around 18, and it only had 8k miles on it.
I don't know if the market is that differant, but I wouldn't in this lifetime pay that much for a 99' GT; Im assuming the 35th anniversary is a 99.
I would look in a junkyard for some of the body work, or ebay. heck, you can find Bullitt wheels on Ebay, for 250-400 for all 4, I bought my 05 GT upgraded rims for 270. Plus, im sure someone on a site like Ebay wouldn't mind those rims. You can also sell the Cobra R wing. I'd just be petrified about the bath you'd take on the car moneywise if you sold and bought unless you get floored with a deal.

In my opinion......which is my opinion.....that's why it's my opinion.....a restore would be worthless and pointless. We're not talking about a 1969 Mach 1 or a 1970 Boss here, this is a 1999 35th Anny GT.
When I was looking for a Stang.....I called a guy with a 95 GT, and he told me "This is the last year of the 5.0s, it'll be a collectors item.....if you buy it you better keep it." There's just something that a modern classic can't obtain that an old school classic has.
Here's another way to think of it.....by having that K&N intake you've destroyed the original value even more. Also you missed the headlights...those aren't 99-00 headlights......that's another 130-300 dollars to add to the total. The exhaust tips doesn't appear to be stock either.
You'll be spending too much time trying to find parts that are too rare to find. I can't imagine trying to find a 99 Anny decklid w/spoiler, or the rims.
Lastly, most people expect a Mustang to be modified. If they don't they've never owned or looked for a Mustang. Sell it at the price you want, and be prepared to lower the price a little.
BTW.....love the Performance Red! I'm a little biased being a Performance Red owner myself. Also......that engine bay is really clean....good job.

i wouldnt restore it either. they made so many of them. and classic??? doubt it, atleast not unless alot of them get destroyed and you keep it for 50 years. i would just mod and do what i want to the one you have. why sell the 99 to get an 01???
#15
the reason i wanna sell is becuase this one is an auto and i cant stand auto's now that i've had one, also i dont like whats been done with it and it'de be cheaper to start with a fresh pallet, a manual pallet lol. plus i really want black and the cost a paint change aint worth it. plus theres some things here and there that i dont like on the '99 that they changed on the '01 (location of the 3 buttoms infront of the shifter on the '01 just to name an example)

well if you want to get a 5spd instead of the auto then I would think that's a good reason to switch. Besides I think your heck bent on getting the newer version, I just hope you find a deal like I found for my '04... Keep your eyes open for a deal. Good luck with it.

However I agree with you on the auto......I doubt I'll go back to an auto. Selling would be easier than a restore.
