Wirimg Harness

Recently purchased a 98 Lincoln Mark VIII DOHC engine to put in my 96 GT convertible. I have the wiring harness, but the guy did not have the coils or the computer. Does anyone know if my GT harness with my coilpacks will work if I have my computer reflashed to the 96 Cobra settings or if I can just purchase a Cobra computer.

The mark 8 and cobra motors are not alike. Different internals. So I don't think the cobra tune would run it right.

What is different about them besides the intake?

Cam grinds. Cast iron crank instead of forged steel. And I'm pretty sure lower compression ratio.

What do you suggest? Is there anyway I can get a Mark 8 tune to my computer or do I need to find another computer?

You can get a tune. You just need a harness that will work. Would be cheaper to just find a mark 8 harness and computer though.

I actually have the harness for the Mark 8 but it has the coil on plug system and I don't have the individual coils and they are kind of expensive. Just trying to save a couple of dollars if I can. I would also like to get a good performance tune on it if possible, but at this point I don't really care as long as it runs. It's been sitting in the same spot for almost 3 months.
