Will 00-04 seats work on my 97GT?

I'm looking to replace my seats with newer model leather (or cloth if I can find nice ones) seats from an 00 or higher. I found some 02's but the seller says they won't match up with the 97 equipment. Anyone got some advice?

Good, I found out to have my seats redone it would cost between $1300-$2000. The only thing that would make it worth it is I could custom pick the colors and they way they look. I think it would just be better to get some newer Mustang black leather seats off ebay for about $600-$700 plus shipping.
Thanks for the info.

I agree about the Cobra seats. If I could afford new seats right now, that's what I'd get. At the least, make sure to sit in a car with the same seats you're planning to buy before you make the purchase to make sure you won't hate them. I've got an 02 GT with power seats, and honestly prefer the seats in the older GTs, or even the non-power seats in the newer V-6s. I've always thought you should sit in a bucket seat, not perch on top of it.

I like my 98 cloath seats. The leather looks nice but I don't think they are as nice to sit in expecually in extreme weather. But you can't deny that leather cobra seats would like nice.

I hate the material on my 97 cloth seats, I think it's butt ugly. There is also a small hole on the drivers seat, I figure now is the time to make the change.

Well, I got some grey leather GT 02 seats off of ebay. $300 for all of them, add $150 for shipping. Crossing my fingers they are in as good of condition as they said and the pictures showed. Are they easy to swap out? I heard a socket set would be all I need. I have attached a "before" picture of the butt ugly cloth seats. I also switched to black floor mats.

Get Cobra Floor Mats, They are like 15 dollars on Ebay
(get em out of a wrecked car) You have the same cloth seatts that were a base option for 96-98 Cobras, and no 1 has liked em. Good Luck!

I guess there's only one way to find out. My current drivers seat is power and so is the replacement one, hope they plug together the same, I'm sure they will. I'll post an "after" picture when it's all done.

I received my 2002 grey leather seats and installed them all by my little self. Only one problem and this is a warning to others.......the newer wiring harness for the seat doesn't go with the 97GT power seat. I'm going to an auto electrician to get that fixed. The place I bought the seat from had enough sense to also give me the plug that runs from the car into the seat. The electrician said about $70 bucks for the work. Worth it to me. Oh, THE SEATS LOOK BRAND NEW. I'll post pictures in a few.
