I was driving my mach before...i was doing 50 i was in 5 TH....as i approached a light i put it into neutral....as i came closer to the traffic light i started to brake....i felt the brakes were DEAD....i looked at the tach and seen all the lights on...i realized that the car had just shut off.....thank god i was on a country backroad or i could have been killed!
What is up with this...i started the car back up and it was fine....
i since drove it for about 25 miles and it has been fine....is there something wrong?
I called the service dept. and they told me to bring it in on monday....
Have you guys ever had this problem?
I have a 04 with 2700 miles on it!
BONESTOCK!

I've had that problem when using an aftermarket MAF On my car. Also if the Idle Air Valve is malfuntioning it can cause issues. Defintely take it to teh dealer, cause that shouldnt happen.

Ooh, very lucky you were on a back road. Like Scott said, get that checked out by the dealer. You definitely want to keep the Mach 1 in good condition.

i've had this problem before, it only does it when you put it in neutral. I always leave mine in gear and push in the clutch. Doesn't happen anymore.

Silver-

It's happend to me twice in the first ~2800 miles. I had the dealer look at the car, they found no problems. I have ~5200 miles now and haven't had a problem in about ~3000 miles.

You may want to search some threads on mach1registry.org. You will find more specifc answers directly related to the Mach.

I was diving the old 4-speed f-150, and the same thing happened. Went to turn, pulled it into neutral to downshift, and when i let the clutch out, i got nothing. Engine had died. I had pulled it into neutral to fast, beforei had my clutch in the whole way. No biggy, but if covered by warranty, you may as well get it checked out.

Did you have the battery disconected recently or computer may still be learning.... I had it happen when I got my computer back from reflash a couple of times, but after about a 1,000 or so it never happened.... happened to me at about 130 or so racing a m3.....kind of scary till I realized what happened and popped the clutch back out.....hasn't happened in the last 10-11,000 miles though.....

Sounds like a clutch/tranny problem...
