Two weeks ago, my 03 DSG Cobra had to be taken to the shop because I had suddenly felt a violent clutch pedal vibration at 1800 RPMs in 1st gear. After the mechanic pulled the bellhousing off, he noticed the throw-out bearing retainer was broken. That's right, I said broken. Surprisingly enough, I could still manage to drive my car (at least long enough to get it to the dealer). Now, 2 weeks later, I am still waiting on the new part to come in. Has anyone else experienced this problem? The service manager informed me the part is on backorder! How many Mustangs are having this issue? Anyone that has Ford contacts or experience with this, could you shed some light my way?

thanks,

chad

No problems yet with my '03 Chad. But I've only got 2200 miles on her so far. Let me know what you find out and good luck!

I'm curious, did Ford not place steel bearing retainers on the T56 Tremec 6-speed transmission in the '03 Cobra?
