Takin the Cobra to drag strip
I forgot to mention...I have a lot of runs from today video recorded (including an 8 second street legal 65 mustang) and as soon as i get to my friends house to transfer all the clips to his computer I will try to get some of them up, although I think I need a host first don't I?

Very good!!!
Was humidity high? If it was, just wait till fall!!
You get your 60ft times under 2.0 (~1.9) you might hit 12.6's . . or so it would seem!

Man, that is great weather!!
What gear is one in as they run through the traps in an '03-'04 Cobra??
yeah, most of the time i had to hit 4th, but i probably could have left it in 3rd. I dont know why i cant get my 60' times down. Maybe its because of street tires with not a whole lot of rubber. A set of radials/slicks would be helpful.
Does your strip mandate a helmet with runs below a certain time? The two around here are 12.9 and 13.9 (where I took the Mach), though the track officials don't get on you too bad if you don't have one. (For under 13.9.)
yes, under 13.99 you had to have a helmet, they didn't seem to be too **** about it although they announced that rule right after pearbear's run so he took the hint and borrowed a helmet. the rules also say 13.99 and faster you need a driveshaft loop and i thought that was pretty weird...they didn't make any announcements about it and weren't checking cars for one but i didn't think a driveshaft loop was a very important safety piece, at least not for 13 second cars...
yeah, good runs. a driveshaft loop probably isnt that important for a 13 second car. but below that i would get one. it keeps the driveshaft from breaking through the floor if it fails.
12.8 on your first time to the track!!! congrats!
