Whats the pros/cons of switching from a t-45 to a t-5 tranny??

T5 won't last long behind a 4.6. And the bellhousing probably don't match up.

Ive matched the bellhousing with the t5 and it'll work but why would it not hold up?

The T45 bellhouse is part of the case. So you need a 4.6L T5 bellhouse. The drive shaft lengths and yokes are different also 31 vs 28 spline. The T5 aftermarket is supurb tho and can be built as strong as you need/ want to pay for. Just depends.

In stock form its only rated to 300ft·lbs torque. Which is less then a stock 4.6.
And that's the WC T5. The non WC is alot less.

Are you building it? If you build the Trans you should be good.
