Last week i was at the track and saw a completly stock mach 1 (tires and everything) run a 12.95 , pretty funny considering my friend with a moderately modded (all bolt-ons)cobra ran a 12.97

i think this takes the record for fastest stock mach 1

I don't think the Mach 1 was stock. I'm sure it had gears and a few other mods that weren't visible.

when the 02 mach concept came out, it was driven to a 12.90 on slicks i believe.
and the cobra that was mentioned prolly had a driver who didnt know how to shift or something along those lines.

There have been couple of people on M1R that have dipped into the 12's (stock), but only 2-3, if I remember correctly.

You guys forget, mach1 engines were designed with one thing in mind. A great trq curve. They make alot better midrange power than most n/a cobra's. They have a slightly different cam profile which helps tremendously.

Also they have a better suspension package which helps in the weight transfer quite a bit. Plus the 3.55 gears in a solid rear axle is going to do alot better than a 99+ cobra with its weaker IRS that unless heavily modified will wheel hop enough to break a half-shaft on street tires.

I dont doubt the 12.95 on a stock car, but the guy is a great driver and knows his car better than he knows how to wipe his own rear. Power shifting is a must in order to acheive times like that, which I dont condone on a stock shifter equipped tranny (kiss the shift forks goodbye after time).

I went 13.50 with my Auto so 12's are very possible.Machs can trap 105mph stock. My highest mph was 104.43.

They (mm&ff) say the 99-04 Gt's (auto and stick) can break into the really high 13's stock under the right conditions so I believe it. Especially if you have areally experienced driver!

Sorry, but I don't really consider it that big a deal. It's quite doable.

umm, MM&FF got a 12.40 at 112mph out of a all stock 03 cobra with nothing more than a tire pressure adjustment

A couple of weeks ago I decided to see what my 04 Mach 1 5spd could do... so I went to the strip. Never having drag raced at a strip before I posted a 13.29 at 105.13! ...with a 2.024 60 ft time. I did not speed shift...not sure I could without breaking something.

My only mod is a Borla cat back...every thing is stock including the air filter. I had a half tank of gas with spare tire in the trunk and I weigh 230 lbs.

So, a lighter...better driver, less gas and spare removed could dip in the 12's or 13.0's. My best mph for the night was 105.63. I know she has more in her.
