Spareless at the Track

Probably going to the track this weekend for a couple of runs and had a question.

Would leaving my spare at home help or hurt my times? On the one hand, I believe the wieght savings will help since the car is lighter but could it also cause hooking issues since I'm removing weight from the back and running a stock rearend with street tires?

Any thoughts?

I would think if your spining alot off the line I would leave it in. If your not spining so much take it out. Also depends how much gas is in your tank.
Whats the rule here for ever 100 pounds lost you should gain 1/10 in the 1/4????????????

Usually run 1/4 of a tank of gas. Not spinning too much but that is a concern if I take it out. Doesn't really sound like it's going to make a difference.

I always ditch the jack and spare. Along with the back seat most of the time. 1/4 fuel.

I'm going to give it a try and see what happens. Last time I was there a Corba blew an axle at the line and the clean up was so poor that no one hooked for the rest of the night in that lane. If that happens again it won't matter what's in the trunk.

I ran my 99 many times both ways, didn't really make a difference. I've gotten in the habit of running it exactly as it's set up on the street.

I generally pull mine out. Gives me more room to throw the slicks in the trunk.

Not an issue for me until I upgrade me rear end. Don't need to get towed home from the track due to broken axles.
