Son's first car
Well my 15 1/2 old son bought his first car a 1996 Forest Green Mustang GT. But until he gets his license the car is under my name and insurance. I am writing to find out if there is anyway to get any car history on the car like the build dates, window stickers etc. I contacted a contact who works for Ford but since the car is over 10 years old there was little information about the car. I did find out when the car was sold and the first owners name but thats about it. The data tag shows the car was built in 9/95 and the OASIS showed the car was sold on 9/21/95 so the car was not on the lot long. So far by just Googling around I found the production numbers for that year which were:
135.980 Mustangs were built in 1996
31,624 Mustang GT were built in 1996
4,687 Mustangs were built in Forest Green
I also email Ford CRC to see if they had any information about the car as well.
Any help would be great.

A friend of mine had luck with a simple letter to Ford customer service. He was asking about his '92 Lincoln LSC and received a lot of info from Ford, as well as a very nice letter which he displays with his car at car shows.

Thanks for the info. I did email Ford CRC to see if they could find out anything about the car. With some help from a friend who works for Ford he was about to find out the first owners name and when he bought the car and from the carfax report I got a build/ship date to the original dealer.

Something to check on. The 96's had intake manafold problems. They had what was called a "soft recall" that was extended to 7 years. Mine failed 1 month after the 7 th year. Intake plastic would crack.
