Stay stock. They flow surprising well. You will see very little gains with shorties.

I went with BBK tuned length ceramic headers. Difference in the exhaust note as well as minimal gains to HP. They do look good and add alittle more HP not as much as LT's. But i say if you can get them cheap and you mechanically inclined you could to this yourself. It took me a couple hours to do this in my drive way with a basic floor Jack. Just my 2 cents..

It is a driveway job. You don't have to drop the k-member. Easiest way is to take the engine mounts, and transmission mount loose and jack the engine up about 3 inches. In my experience shorties aren't worth doing because you will gain less than 10 hp, and they won't help with the drone. All chambered mufflers drone, worse with an H pipe than an X. An X pipe still drones, but it occurs at a higher rpm

Not for shorties I don't think. LTs yes, shorts your shouldn't. But even still, you could just unbolt the motor, jack it up a little for clearance.

We had to jack the engine up on my friend's 03 GT, to install shorties. There is zero room to work on the passenger side unless it's jacked up.
