I just bought a Bullitt and it is in mint condition. 20 thousand miles, no damage, full coverage bumper to bumper warranty through 09. Anyway, I have noticed that shifting from first to second has been a little choppy lately. It seems like it doesn't want to go in and when it does I almost always grind a little bit. I have the Steeda Tri-Ax shifter on there, which I know makes shifting a little more mechanical feeling, but this resistence I am feeling is getting to annoy me and I wandering if there is a problem.

This is my first manual transmission and I do not know what all the sounds, feels and smells are, but I know that the shift from 1 to 2 is nowhere as smooth as all the others. Is this normal? Please give me a crash course of what could be causing this...

Much thanks.

Wow. That is exatly the case. You nailed it. Thank you very much. I will be visiting the Dealer on Saturday to see if I had that TSB done to my car before I owned it...

Again, wow. Very, very helpful.
