2004 The last Fox-based Mustang, a Redfire 2004 Mustang GT Convertible, rolls out of Dearborn on May 10, 2004, ending the Fox era and Dearborn's Mustang production.

I miss my 82

 

I wonder, on an economic scale how the Fox chassis rates in automotive history.

The good news is that there are plenty avaiable, tons of parts, and emissions testing will become a non-factor in the next few years. (Already '79's are exempt in Ohio, 25 year old vehicles are exempt in Ohio.)

Soon as I get a bigger garage I'll be hunting for a older fox to work on. (Always wanted an '83 GT.)

Ford had to have made a bundle on keeping the Fox so long. I wonder if they will try and redo this timeline again with the new platform. Technology is changing so fast it will be much harder to do.
