I'm having a dilemma on which one to do first. Basically would the sound/performance be better by replacing the h pipe first or the catback? Also does anyone here run a MAC prochamber h pipe and have emissions checks done in their area?

i'd say either/or. you will probably get about the same gains whether you did catback or mid pipe first. as for sound, i've never heard a PC with stock mufflers, but i'm sure it livens things up a bit.

do whatever you can afford first. Don't have emissions checks in my area so I don't know if it would pass though.

As far as sound goes, you'll make a more noticeable difference with a cat-back. As far as power goes, I think that the H/X pipe will be more of a difference from stock. I say this based on my experience from my fox-body cars in the past. I think Scothew has a number of mods done to his mystic and probably can give you a better idea in here.

Emissions checks are varied from state to state, and county to county within my state. As far as that goes, if you know a garage pretty well, you might be able to get away with it. If not, once they do a visual check, they'll notice the off-road H pipe.

Hope this helps.

Ditto.

I just happened to do Cat-Back first. I'm planning an MRT catted-H at some point in the future.

i have a mac O/R on my 92. sounds great. but if you have emissions checks, or dont have a friend who can get it passed you will fail the inspection. and if they didnt look under and just did the test, it will def fail w/o cats. the extra money for the cat pipe stinks, but you wont lose any HP w/ them and then you dont have to worry about the Green folks runnin you down!
