Possible trans problem?

I've been having a little problem shifting into second but it always happens after driving about 30 minutes if it even does it, it kinda grinds even when I make sure the clutch is fully engaged. I'm thinking second gear is probably going out but if anyone has had that problem id love to hear some input about it. I do have a short throw but I'm almost positive that's not the problem. Any info would help.

Grinding is syncros are shot. Gears are (unless you have seriously mangled them) probably ok.

You need to, until you can bust that trans apart to fix it/replace it outright, learn how to sync your engine speed with the road speed. No transmission *needs* the syncros.. or even the clutch, once running along... if you can get the engine/gear speed to match revs.

Yea about a week after I bought it, it's started doing it every now and then. It's gotten better the past couple days though hasn't really grounded at all. Thanks for the info though will definitely try.

Forgot to mention, you might try swapping out the fluid in the transmission to the Royal Purple Synchromax. Stuff actually helped my TR-3650 issues in that grinding respect.

Still notchy. But much improved, and worth it.
