I did some quick research into the various performance models of the mustang to attempt to discern the differences. I wanted to know what the differences were between the GT, SVT, Bullitt, Mach1 and Cobra. It seems like the performance scale basically proceeds in that direction.

i.e. SVT better than GT, Bullitt better than SVT, Mach1 better then Bullitt, Cobra best of all. (performance-wise anyway). Is this correct? Also, does this apply to the handling as well as the speed/acceleration?

Thanks, in advance, for any wisdom anyone cares to share. I just became a Mustang fan with the intro of the 2005 model and I'm confused what all the other previous designations/models mean.

I was always a Firebird/Camaro fan since the mid 80's (I know ... BOO!!!!!), but jumped ship to Ford when I saw the 2005 model. Course, Ford is exquisite feeling release of liquid waste product me off now as I've been waiting 14 weeks for delivery and still no car. Placed order 2/15/05 ... build date 5/30/05!!! Delivery date is (?). Give me a break already, it's just a V6 (loaded, but still...)

i recently went to Fun Ford Weekend, and after seeing all of fords mustangs in person, the best 99-04 made is the 03-04 cobra, looks and performance.
