Well, I *WAS* looking for a classic stang to buy ... Found one, and it didn't work out so well. So, that had me reconsider. I am now contemplating doing the following:

1. Paul's performance Hi-flo air box $220

http://secure-order-area.net/paulshp/cgi-b...cgi?page=600010

Also considered Street Smart CAI

2. Steeda Strut Tower Brace $99 from MRT

http://www.steeda.com/store/-catalog/555-5714.htm

3. MRT H-pipe (heck I could get catless, don' have emission checks here, but my conscience may get me ..) $460-$560

4. Custom Tune/Dyno - ??

5. Springs (undecided, not too low, maybe Bullitt height) - ~$200

6. New Tires (it needs them) - I HATE the OE GOODYEARS! (keeping my wheels, unlike some, I like the Mach/Mag retro look. And 17's are a good weight for me). Open to suggestions on tires. Want to slightly wider in back from stock. Stock is fine up front.

7. Welded subframe connectors:

http://secure-order-area.net/paulshp/cgi-b...cgi?page=600060

Then, still have money leftover for other stuff, like:

1. Mach 1 floor mats.
2. Few dress up items.
a. Billits caps (oil, etc.)
3. Possibly Side Louvers
http://www.mach1performance.org/images/side_louvers.jpg

4. Mach I scuff plates
5. Mach I ID tag
6. New Coil Covers
7. Rear matte black letters for bumper.
8. Mach 1 fender cover
9. Sequential Turn Signals

So anyway, thoughts on the brands, etc? Any other things you add, not do, etc.? Would you go full CAI, or the PHP high-flow air box?

I think for tires, you would be amazingly happy with Nitto 555's (non drag radials). You can run the 275/45/17 on the back with your stock 17x8" rims and be ok. Just cant rotate tires around like you could with all 4 same size.

subframes are one of the best mods out. I really like the Maximum motorsports and Kenny Brown stuff.

Springs, I'd go with something a little bit more performance oriented than the bullitts. Maybe Eibach pro-kit. Tad lower than the Bullitt's, but handle great and also maintain a smooth ride when cruising due to being a progressive rate spring.

Also something else you may like, a good set of lower control arms for the back. The Maximum motorsports with the spherical bearing on the axle side are great for a street car. They handle well and dramatically increase traction on a hard launch.

Forgot, also considering this for the CAI. Seems comprable to the PHP above. Not sure how it compares to the Street Smart.

No, not yet. Daily driver, and it's already expensive buy gas for 50 miles a day! I don't need more temptation.

Gears are on the future list, after warranty is kaput (in about a year).

Also, the Nittos look pretty good.I'd probably end up getting 245/45/17's all around, mainly because it doesn't look like they make a 275 in that tire anymore. I'd order them have them put on here, no dealers close to me, unfortunately.

Anyone have any opinions on Kumho or Yoko tires?

Ive ran both Kumho 712's and 711's. Good tires. They wear fine, do good in the rain, but they arent as sticky as you would want in a high performance car. Overall a great tire, especially for the price.

I've also ran nitto's and they blow any of the kumho's out of the water. They do great in the rain, great in curves and in straight line. Hands down the best tire i've found. I think tirerack.com had them for a great price for awhile. Not sure if they are still listed.

It may have been the DR's i was thinking of taht was in 275/45/17.

We get so much rain here in Nashville, thats a consideration.

Right now, it's look like the Nittos will be it. $450 shipped to my door, not bad at all. I'll get Dickson Tire and Oil to swap 'em out for me, for not too much. So, I'll be under $500 total for the tires. Woot!

Anyone have experience with an Paul's HP stuff? The Steeda CAI looks to be similiar to the PHP high-flow box, but is a complete replacement for $30 cheaper. I'm kinda leaning toward that.

As far as Springs: Eibachs or the MRT Street Performance Springs.

Subframes, the Kenny Browns look pretty good. I'm gonna ask the weld shop in White Bluff how much for help with that.

For a Custom Tune/Dyno, Delk Performance in Lebanon has a pretty good reputation (out by the Speedway).

The bad news is this:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAP...TRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

Its in Leeds, outside B'ham somewhere. Also, the guys from Franklin (near me). I've emailed him, see what he's gonna say.

Leeds is about 25min from where I work. Also its fairly close to SVOPaul's shop. I bet he could arrange to look at the car if you decided to come down and check it out or something.

If you are thinking about the Steeda Strut Tower Brace (2pt. or 3pt.) I say go with the Steeda CAI. The JLT can be "bent" to fit, but you'll have to do the bending.

I'm planning on the Steeda because I too want a Strut Tower Brace.

BTW - I'm ordering the Steeda CAI and the Nittos tonight. Should have something to do this weekend

Thinking about ordering Springs, strut, and H next. Know anyone with a shop within 200 miles that needs the work?

Well, despite me wanting larger tires out back. I've reconsidered since no rotation. Sounded like a good idea, until I started pricing it up

Also, a STUPID QUESTION ALERT: The load rating on the Nitto 555 R's are only 89 ... Whereas the other tires for the car are all in the 93/94/95 range. Didn't seem like it'd be an issue, becasuse that stills like 5100# max weight. Is that gonna be a true statement?

So far, ordered: STEEDA CAI, Steeda 3-Point Strut Tower, Nitto 555's. Steeda parts should be in Friday, so have a weekend mini-project with those items.

Will be ordering MRT H, and Eibach Springs. Will get those installed for me, probably.

Two more questions: Would you guys go Custom Dyno Tune, or a tuner (like Diablo, etc.)? I think I'll be doing the Custom Dyno Tune. What price range should I expect on that?

Delk Performance Auto is only one around here to do it. Know any shops in B'Ham area that have a good rep for this sort of thing?

I would go with a custom tune (chip or flash). Go with the SCT if you have a choice, you will be pleased.

Doug at Bamachips.com can send you a flasher or chip with tune for your car, that will be pretty close to dead on, if you go the flasher route, he can always send you another file as well if you have the cable to transfer it from the computer to flasher.

Yeah, I was checkign his site out. I just need to wait for him to get back in town.

Looks like it'll be about $450, including the cable, so not bad at all. I'm waiting for DELK to email me back to see what they'd charge for Dyno session, and install for H and springs all at once.

If that doesn't work out, I'll go Bamachips.
