My girlfriend has an 03 GT mustang, her clutch just started feeling notchy. I havent felt it but she tells me that the clutch goes to the floor smoothly then gets notchy right before it gets to the floor. she says it feels like it may need to be greased. Anyone have any idea what this is?

I understand it is hard to diagnose from hearing someone tell you how it feels so any help is appreciated.

Thanks

You might check the floormat on the drivers side. My 03 GT was getting that way, and I didn't remember it doing that when I test drove it. But I had changed the floormats after I got it. I played with it one day and found that when the mat slides forward a little, the clutch pedal rubs/catches on the front of the floormat...

I'll second what Navalbuff said. I thought something was wrong with mine too until I realized it was the mat getting all in the way. Hopefully that's the problem.

If moving the floormats doesnt work, you might want to check the clutch quadrant, and clutch pedal assembly as well.
