New mustang owner
Hello everyone... I'm new here and also a new mustang gt owner. 96 to be exact. Didn't know where to turn, but having a problem. So, I bought car with 61000 original miles. Needed intake manifold, tune up, brakes, etc. I went with screaming demon coils, ,9mm wires, and ngk plugs. Put on fenderwell intake, 76 mm bbk maf with stock throttle body. Three row radiator. Put tune on car with bama sct. 93 race tune. Car surges on deceleration. That's the issue. Before tune fuel trims way off. Drives and idles good. Thinking that pcm has to relearn, maybe put performance tune instead of racing? Help

Welcome To TMS.
Sounds Like it Would Not Hurt To Try Other Tunes.
What Do You Mean it Needed an Intake??? Damaged ?
Have You Tried Contacting Tuner For Help??
Was The MAF Recommended For Your Setup?
Have You Tried Stock MAF And See How it Runs?
Are You getting Any Codes??

Thanks for responding
The intake manifold was leaking coolant when I got car. Cracked in the back where return line goes from heater core. Thinking of putting stock tune on and then using the preloaded tune. Car isn't heavily modified yet

I got everything from American muscle. No codes. The maf, they said, was to go perfect with the fenderwell intake, but I have read that the Fenderwell intake restricts air from the bend in the piping. Was looking at k and n set ups. Ive contacted bama and they said car will relearn after a few miles. This was Sunday I talked with them. I've put on about 100 miles since then. Car runs good, but as soon as you let off in fourth and third the surging begins. Have to toss in neutral

I think Playing Around With Different Parameters Will get You Where You Want To Go. Some Good Fuel Additive Might Be in Order if the Car Sat a Long Time & The Injectors Got Gummed Up By The Lousy Fuel We Have These Days! Ford Advises The Chevron Techron Additive! What You Got To Lose!

I did put on a new iac and tps. The iac does hum, sounds like a fog horn at idle. It's for the 4.6 motor. Guys had told me to adjust the tps, but it's all electronic by the pcm

I would Like To See Some Pics of The Intake Setup Might Be Helpful. I Chased an Issue With a Member awhile Back For Weeks and Finally He Posted a Pic And I Figured it Out Asap. It Was A Misrouted Crankcase Vent Hose and it Caused a Nasty Sound!
My Shelby Went Fubar One Time and it Was Caused By My C&L Intake Having a Lousy Mounting Surface for The MAF and it Was Sucking Air. It Barely Ran! I Have to Use Silicone Sealer To get a Good Seal! That's What I get For Having the First Bama Tune & C&L Out of The Gate! Prototype Intake!

From What I Can See Looks Pretty Clean! Not a Bunch of Chewed Wires Etc. Vacuum Lines Look Nice. I think It's Just Gonna Be a Trial & Error Thing. Don't Rule Out trying Stock Pieces One At a Time. Be Advised Especially these Days New Parts Can Be Bad and Also Parts May Look Identical and Be Incorrect as Well. Especially Things Like Sensors Ect, & The Like! I Notice it Has Original Egr Valve. Might Pull That off & Clean Passage as well As Valve.
