New HeadLight question
New HeadLight question
I recently purchased new Smoked Headlights for my 99GT, as the ones that where on the car when I bought it where trashed. After installing I've noticed that the fit isn't exactly perfect. There are gaps where the rubber seal around the lights does not meet the car, some by an inch or more. Is this normal, or is there something special I should have done to improve the fit?
Where is it not meeting? Fender, towards well, hood? Not sure on 99 but on 02 have to push into rubber grommits then slide down clips into brackets at rear of light.
Could it be that you havent pushed them in. Spray a little WD40 in there to help glide them in. Mine were a little scary but with a little muscle they went back in.
The only other explanation I can think of is that
a) you ordered the wrong ones
b) you were sent wrong ones.
Unfamiliar with 99 so looks like thats the best I can do. Hope it helps.

Lights where purchased from 50resto.
I did see the guide pins, and everything seemed to snap back in place fine (99 attaches same as 00-04). Lights look identical to the ones that came out. Main gaps on are on the drivers side. The side marker seems a bit high off the bumper. Also the rubber seal along the top of the light toward the front of the car has enough space for me to place my finger into it, yet the light feels snug, and the inside pins slid in place with no problems. Even with these little issue they still look 10X better than the ones they replaced, maybe I’m being to picky.
I'll try to attempt to re-install it again and see what happens.
