Friend / neighbor is looking at buying this car. Other then making sure it hasn't been in an accident and is in good running order, what should he be looking for to make sure it's a 'real' Roush and worth the money?

Looks to me like it was built by the owner and not a factory built Roush. I suppose it could be a stage 1 or 2 which is only body and suspension. 3 is supercharged but it would have a roush charger on it and roush takes stock GT's and adds to them. This has been completely apart and back together since it has heads and cams which roush doesn't do. If it is a legit roush it'll have a number like #250 of #500 or something of that nature. I would ask for that if they had this car new most people keep the paper work to roush's and saleens. I also wouldn't think roush would keep a stock v6 hood on it but also I always hear roush's aren't really worth a lot more than just a GR8 of the same year as there is no option for one on sites like Kelly blue book and stuff

Take that 17k and look at getting a new GT with all these great deals now. Yes you may pay a bit more but you won't lose your butt if you decide to trade up in a few years.
