Need Advice on a Tangerine '96!

Hey all,

I have a line on a 1996 Tangerine Convertible, White Top and White Leather interior. The leather has issues and the front and rear bumper covers have a few scapes and one samll hole. I know it's rare. It has 107,000 miles and I can get it for $7000. I've never bought a car with that many miles. But I know it's rare. How are these cars when they hit that level? Still reliable or what? And it's a one owner with a clean car fax, even though he admitted he was side swiped about 10 years ago. And it is fully loaded. Almost $29,000 in 1996!

Any help and advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

John

I wouldn't buy it, 1996-1998s are prob the lowest value stangs out there and i don't see the demand ever going up as well as the foxes or the 99+ cars.

that seems like too much to pay for a high mileage car. you should be able to buy that car for $5,500

Not so fast!!! Ford only built 829 of those Tangy Stangs..if you can get it down and the car is not too beat up, I think she is worth saving!

there are a lot of rare cars that will still not be worth anything more then sentamental.

If you look at the classic stangs, you can find very rare combinations but if its a 6cyl car is goes for hardly anything, and the 1994 was one of the slowest stangs within 10 years or more years each way around it.

I have to disagree about the foxes. Ive been watching their value, and ones in great shape go for quite a bit more than they did a few years ago.

To the OP, I would not but that car for that much with that many miles on it anless you are a diehard University of Tennessee fan.

thats my point, fox prices are skyrocketing...i don't see that happening to 94-98's.

I have a nearly equally rare Deep Violet Metallic 97' GT fully loaded with about 82k on it. The car has never been in any accidents paint is perfect except a few paint chips on the front bumper and the most I have been offered is $5000! This guy is clearly asking for far to much money you could probably buy a Cobra of the same year with the same mileage for the price he is asking for an underpowered 96-98 GT!
