I got a Christmas gift from my brother, new Ford Racing plug wires in red so they match my car, how nice. While the mechanic at the dealer was taking off the old plug wires he noticed coolant on the tip of one, yep, coolant leak. I guess the gasket is bad. That's the bad news. Good news is that it got caught now and since they should have caught it during my 60K mile service last week, I'm paying for parts only when they replace both gaskets. Again, cheaper then buying a new car.
I wanted to share since it's nice that a dealership wanted to make up for it's shortfalls and do the right thing. If they caught it during the 60K mile check it would have all come out of my pocket.

Me too, now I'm going to walk to the store and get some Ben and Jerry's to ease the pain.

Vanilla Heath Bar Crunch. After the phone call I got after I posted this thread, I picked up a 6 pack too. It was the upper intake manifold also. Repeat after me......."It's cheaper then buying a new car!!!" I'm going to repeat this a few dozen times tonight.

I'm not the most savy on the specifics but something about the rubber piece/nipple (I said nipple) not setting right or sealing right? I did some google checking and it seems coolant leaks are kind of common on these upper intake manifolds.

WOW, I would buy a Performance intake if I were you. Get some High Perf gaskets while you are at it.

Too late, they got the parts already. I'm not too worried about modifying it, just fixing it. It kinda came out of nowhere so I was just thinking about getting her running.

I won't rest until it does and they know that. I'm just glad I'm on vacation until January.

Got her back and she runs fine. Besides the intake manifold being replaced they put on my Ford Racing red wires and Ford Racing wire holders. The engine area looks alot nicer. The important thing though is the car runs right.
