My cruise control!!

It has a mind of its own I guess! My car’s speedometer is messed up anyhow. If I go 67, that really means I am going 70! I go 69, so 66 just to be safe!! I set it and in about 15-20 miles I am going about 3-4 MPH faster! I slow down to 66. The same thing happens over and over!! Is there any other member’s car whose does this? I have no clue as how I might get it fixed!!

Sorry, if that did not make any sense! I tried though!!!!

I had some speedometer sensor replaced about 6 months ago. Before that I do not remember it doing this. Thanks!!

Oh she is a 95 GT, Auto; BTW!

It sounds like your speedometer needs to be adjusted.

Take it to a dealer and ask them to tune. Also have you changed tires at all? A different tire size will also effect the speedo. However it does sound like you just need adjustment.

that happens In all cars I thought.....well....not by that much though...In my expericance, depending on how you are driving when you set it...it takes a few tries to get it at the correct speed you want....I normally set it....then wait a few minutes and see how it pans out...if its not what I was going for...I try again....I want to go EXACTLY how fast I want to go.

I bought new tires, but they were the same exact size as factory. 245/45/17

I tried setting my speed in different ways. I used the pedal to gain speed, I used the Accel on my controls, I got going like 5 MPH faster and set it while slowing down, yeah I just tried setting my cruise in as many ways as I could think of! Every time, the same end product happened though. I would seem to work @ first, then about 15 miles further she sped up about 3-4 MPH! I love to speed; don’t get me wrong!! I just cannot afford any tickets though!! Thanks!!

My speedo is off but it would not fix this prob, would it? I am only guessing because I don’t know!! See ya!

I believe my car just wants to drive fast is all!! She wants to run free!!!! Yeah, I don't know.
