getting the car to find reverse is a PITA. All other gears are fine, just reverse. I've tried putting it in other gears then down to reverse, but it does't always work. it either grinds or pops out.

is there a fix for this or do I just live with it. by the way, car is still under a ford extended warranty.

 

Take it back to Ford. They have an obligation to fix it! That is why you pay the extra for an extended warranty.

 

Its either going to be a reverse synchro or clutch. If its the clutch, thats no big deal. Now if its the synchro, they will have to rebuild the tranny.

I had mine rebuilt by Ford at 45,000 on the clock. Second and Reverse were grinding into gear.

 

the stock t-45 in these cars plain out stinks. Mines doing the same thing and I'm on my 2nd t45. If yours is under warrenty, by all means take it back to them! But, if you have an aftermarket shifter or anything, be careful cause they will do their best to deny the claim.

 

hopefully you still have the original shifter. ifso just bolt it back in and take that thing to ford : ) hope you get it taken care of

 

They can still tell if you have had the shifter area apart as an FYI. they will look for new sealent around the shifter base etc..

 

I am on my third T45 and think it is time for another :bang:. The first tranny was popping out of second and hard to get in reverse. The second would not go in reverse. and the one I have now hates third :angry:

I am no longer under warrenty so I think I will ditch the T45 and get something else.
