I heard that if you take one of the idler pulleys off your 2001 mustang gt that you add at least 10 Hp is that true

I dont possibly see how it could on a GT. HOw are you going to keep tension on the belt and keep it in place?

Now i've seen on 03/04 cobra's that putting a bigger idler pulley on puts more tension on the belt causing less belt slip which could result in more power.

Never heard of that....but there are aftermarket performance pullies to reduce drag and therefore add HP. I don't think you would REMOVE a pulley.

If you're not familiar with mods and want to add horsepower, find a good performance shop in your area and talk to them. I use AutoTek here in Austin and they've been a huge help. The worked with my goals and my budget.

You don't want to throw random performance on any car. If you really want it to perform, it should be planned and your mods should cooperate with each other.
