Mark 8 shortblock.

So I came acrossed a deal on a bottom end from a 98 mark8 with 70k on it($100). It's aluminum. Is this worth the time and effort to tear down and re assemble for my gt. What are the pros and cons. Any common issues with the aluminum block. Would I be able to use termi heads and an 03 timing set on this. Is everything pretty solid on these as well. please help.

Well that block is known as the teskid block made in italy. The block has been proven 1500+ hp. Yes its worth it. But there are some things to know the crank though good for 500+ hp is a 6 bolt crank if on a budget this is fine to keep. Means you won't need to change flywheel. Rods and pistons are same material as the GT. I opted for forged rods and pistons on my build, along with good bearing and seals. I would hunt down mach 1 parts to make a swap easier. Timing cover, throttle cable and harness. But the gt harness can be used for 4v heads.
