Mach 460 speaker system, front door speakers not working
One day in my 02 both of my front door speakers suddenly stopped working at the exact Same time, the tweeters and all the rear speakers still function. What could cause this?
Two videos I found that should help, happen to be passenger side doors.
Regarding the door speakers:
Notice the wiring colors? Black with green stripe and black with white stripe.
Regarding the tweeters:
Wiring here is green with pink and white with green.
As long as this is a consistent model across Mach/Mach460 radios, this means the tweeters are a separate circuit from the doors. And since both door speakers are separate amps, the amps in the radio are the issue, given the both don't work for that channel (being subwoofers, in effect, and not full range signals.) Whether they're separate amps from the head unit or integrated, that's something I'm not quite sure about, but that's the likely issue.
You can try to move the front speakers to the rear channel to see if they still work, and/or you can move the rear speaker to the front channel. If the speakers all work, but the channel doesn't, the amp is blown. If the channel up front works with the rear speakers, but the front speakers don't work with the rear channel, somehow you won a little lottery you lucky dog and blew both front door speakers at the same time. Quite the feat.
I wanna know what song you were playin' 'cause it sounds seriously kickin' with bass.
I'm guessin' amp. You might want a wiring diagram for your car, though, to be sure what I'm sayin' is correct. But I think I am...
Hope that helps! Good luck!

I do not. But perhaps comparing the wiring diagram between the two would reveal an answer. Or just plug it in, worse case scenario the car burns to the ground, right? Right!

No, no... it won't burn. But it'll possibly pop a fuse or kill the head unit or something like that, so wiring diagrams for both, and both entire systems really, would be best.
Or just... y'know... maybe just get a new system...?
These factory units are ok, but parts chasing is a problem, and Ford's weirder than most about how they go about things on these systems...
Or ebay. Surely there's replacement parts there for ya. And then if you just get the unit and it's broken, it might be no problem. Electronic repairs can happen. If you just gotta have original.
Just tryin' to spitball there. Maybe it helps?
