Have any of you replaced your head unit is it the same as replacing any other unit, I'm looking to update it with somthing newer.my ? is there anything I need to know before removing it.Does it have any amp built in.Looking to replace with a JVC 50w head unit. Thanks.

I did some searching and found what I needed. Leave it stock less trouble.

 

My friend changed the head unit in his 98 cobra to a pioneer and the tweeters in the doors would just about make your ears bleed. His wasn't too much trouble but when he got rid of it and got an 03 gt he couldn't get the factory amps to power up and it sounded like listening to it under water
