I noticed the 04's Mach 1000's are being offered with Sirius. I have an 03 with the Mach 1000. Is there a radio part I can get from Ford in order to get Sirius or do I have to swap an 03 Mach 1000 head unit for an 04 Mach 1000 unit? I'm hoping maybe it's just a box and a cable I can order so I can plug it right to my existing unit.

I just went to Fords Website, I too Have a Mach 1000. It says Sirius Compatible receiver, but if You read further, here's what it says...

I was wondering too..and does that mean I can choose between sirius and xm???

 

Hmm...gues I'll be making a trip to the local dealer tomorrow to get the scoop. I'm sure it's not going to be cheap,lol!!! I'll let you know what the deal is when I get back...actually I could call them but this is the same dealer that tried to violate me anally when I first was looking at getting a Stang this past June. Nothing better than rolling up there in my vert and having them ask where I got it,lol!!!!

 

Now, 5 hope you have no intention of buying it there, I'll call my buddy tomorrow...see what he says...How much can it be...sirius adapters are about 125 bucks...so if the radio is already set...it shoudl just be the receiver...We'll compare notes tomorrow

Talked to Ford, they are saying that the sirius was a late add. My dealer told me we'd have a button on the radio that says sat. I'm not home yet so I don't know if I have it...I am going to find if I can get a new head unit. Otherwise I'd have to go aftermarket. I agree with hdwrench though, I won't go with xm if any of their money goes to clearchannel.

I had the sat radio in a rental the other day and i LOVE it, I am dying to know what they say about the install, especially since my girlfriend's brother gave me an xp reciever for my birthday.

Spoke to the dealer and basically you are right. If you have the "SAT"button on your head unit then you're good to go.If not you'd have to get the newer MACH 1000 head unit offered in the 04's. Mine doesn't have the SAT button.

They're the corporation that owns a ton of radio stations nationwide

 

Clear channel is the company who dumped howard stern. Now depending on who's side of the fence you are on, will depend on how you feel...With that said, I wanted to get the sat in my car so I could get sirius when howard leaves is forced to leave.

yeah they dropped stern because he got fined by the fcc or whatever.... thanks to janet jackson for getting the witch hunt started.

they also took the only hard rock station in dallas which had been around for as long as i remember and turned it into sunny 97.1 light rock or somecrap.

About Clear Channel they have there plusses and minuses, but to say they "ONLY" represent censorship isn't correct.

yeah the eagle is gone. Q102 has been gone for several years.

and i didnt say they ONLY stand for censorship... but they sure dont have any backbone vs. the fcc.

their corporate wisdom took away my rock stations... luckily i got sirius about 2 days before the eagle went off the air. timed it right i guess because it was a total shock to everyone when they changed formats. if you tuned into 97.1 on your way to work that morning and were expecting the eagle I am sure you would have been checking a calendar to make sure it wasnt April fools day.

 

haha.......well if 94.5 The Edge is still on I'm sure they're wore out their Good Charlotte and New Found Glory CDs.

They call themselves the edge, but there wasn't anything edgy about their music or djs.

 

yeah they are 102.1 now and i havent listened to them in many years.

Like I said, I have one out in my garage. It has a mach 1000 with sirius deactivated(I am an xm girl though, so its cool) MAN! It sounds like garbage. WHAT am I doing wrong? I can not get it loud and good enough sounding.
