Mach 1 Grill Delete/Chin Spoiler
Okay, LET THE MODS BEGIN. So, I read some older threads and I see prices all over the place and some folks had install problems with the grill deletes. Would you folks that have done this educate me on who has the best price/products?
I think the car needs Eibach springs bad. After the 97GT and it's springs and performance shocks, she feels like a Lincoln Town Car.

Yeah I'm going to be getting the same sometime soon for my car as well. From what I heard, stay away from the cheap 2-piece grill deletes. The authentic 3-piece is supposively the only way to go. As far as price goes for that it is usually $60.00. I know they have them at www.50resto.com
i got their book www.50resto.com they mailed it to me within a week and it has so many parts. order the 50resto latemodel restoration book and check it out, they have all those parts in their, i remember some threads about the chin spoiler, people said to buy extra clips so u can fill every hole when mounting it.
I've installed 4 of the Grill Deletes and Chin spoilers, the hardest part of the install of the grille delete was getting the factory screws and clips off, but I was very careful to not damage the factory one in case I wanted to put the car back to original. Out of the 4 installed, 1 of them was the 2 piece... STAY AWAY from them, they are made like S*** and they don't look right, especially when you see them next to a 3 piece.
Chin Spoilers are cake, just make sure you line it up right before you start drilling, I would also use 4 or 5 3/4" bolts and nuts with the plastic locking threads in addition to the clips suppiled. Some of mine came out around 6 months later.
I got mine from Mustangtuning.com I got free shipping when I bought the chin spoiler with it, at the time they were the cheapest too.

The CDC grille delete was nice at first, but at twice the price of the factory parts, and the fact that their grille piece had to be painted, I'd pass on that. Get the Ford parts...no muss, no fuss.
Trickiest thing I ran into installing the grille delete was securing that tray to the underside of the bumper. People have said "double sided sticky tape"...but not here. I found some locking pushnuts at the hardware store, 1/4" inner diameter...they work perfect.
As for the chin spoiler...easy install. Just make sure to get the front end up in the air somehow to do the install.

"Mustang Chin spoilers are coiled up before shipping. Once received, a Mach1 chin spoiler must lay out flat overnight to go back to its original shape. This Mach 1 Mustang Chin Spoiler may be sent out straight, but since it would be an oversize package, a $25 shipping cost must be charged."
Thosee are great prices for for both the spoiler and the 3 pc. grill delete kit, especially with the free shipping.
So Torch Red ... have had them come shipped coiled up ?? If so, no problems or damage ??
Thanks,
Doug

All of the ones I've installed came coiled up, no damage or problems what so ever. I installed them almost immediatly after opening, as a matter of fact my buddies came in Decemeber and we installed it that day with snow on the ground.
I wouldn't worry about it at all, they are a pretty responsive company, i've ordered a bunch of stuff from them and no problems.
Hope this helps,
Owen

Owen, do you have any pictures of your car that you can post? Curious on how it looks on your car.

I ordered the Grill delete from Mustangtuning. They were out of the chin spoilers so I ordered it from 50resto.com
So, I need 4 or 5 3/4" bolts with nuts? Did you drill extra for these on the car or were there holes for it already?
