Kenne Bell
I have a 04 GT with 49 k miles on it. Im thinking about adding a small Kenne Bell soon, however my car runs perfect and Im kinda worried about something happeing to the engine after the addition ! Should I worry with a good install and tune ?
Thanks

All depends on how much boost your running and your power goals. If you're keeping it conservative you should be fine.

You asked the question... I still say Cobra, down the road you will recoup the cost if you are trying for big power. The drive train of the Cobra can handle massive power, from the forged internals, to the transmission, to the heavier duty IRS (the 99, 01 Cobra's had a weaker IRS) right off the bat. If you want to go for a ton of power in a GT you are going to have to rebuild the internals on your engine, and potentially upgrade your drive shaft and transmission. Plus, the Cobra already has a blower on top, buy a stock one and do a pulley swap and you'll already be making some solid #'s.

I have a 1.7 KB on my 99. Intercooled 9psi, standard KB tune. I've been running it for 5 years, but probably only about 14K miles. (only have 54K on the car...it hasn't been driven daily since 2003). I've been happy with it, and the car is fast, but you'll get used to it and it'll start to feel slow.
It just depends what you want. My car will out run a relatively stock 03-04 Cobra, but you can make a bunch more reliable power with a Cobra with simple mods and a good tune. These days, most teminators you'll find will probably already have some mods.
If I had to do it all over again, I'd probably spend the money on the Cobra and have a car with a better base line that will hold it's value better.

Yea id rather go with the cobra. Solid tranny, IRS, and ive seen cobras push 700 to almost 800 rwhp with stock internals, which will definitely satisfy almost every speed guy (:
Iwould reccomend the vortech supercharger if your gonna charge up a 99-04 GT, thats what i got and im makin a
Bout 400+ horses

If you can do it get the Cobra. There are very few out there that have not already been molested. I have been looking also, but the one owner cars who have not done any mods are not cheap. They can fetch high money, but you can really do a lot to them to get high HP numbers. The engines are pretty much bullet proof.
