journal of Chris/Knights 99 GT. updated 03-10-2007

Arin deciding to sell his II means that his dairy will end. So i'm starting a dairy of my car. Might not be as entertaining or have updates as often but oh well.

So i ordered my first mod last week. Should be coming tomorrow. Nothing major but I'll post once i get it.

Let the mods begin.

Great! Maybe every section in TMS should have a diary/journal of a member's car build-up, resto, or resto-mod. Perhaps I'll start one in the '79-'93 section? Nah, Arin's a tough act to follow and the lack of $$$ for mods would make it pointless.
Anyway, what is your "vision" for the car? Any particular emphasis - say drag-racing, auto-x/open track, cruiser/show car, or all-around daily driven butt-kicker? At least there is another "Auto-blog" on TMS to check in on even if the other one isn't quite done yet. Look forward to seeing your pony's progress. Good luck and have fun!

I've been hoping for a LONG time that you'd do one of these Chris Can't wait to see the progress you make, and the crazy schemes you think up.

(oh and if you think that diary is over... well.... lets just wait and see about that)

I nearly forgot to ask: what's the first mod?

Well I am a very budget minded individual so i am usually a no show all go kinda person.. my first mod i must admit is just visual. But I am more a drag race/street race type of guy. I ahvn't actually gone out ot street race in like 3 years but if i'm lined up with somone i have no problem with going at it right there.

Honestly mods aren't going to come to fast, but i will be doing a few things this summer that i can do for either free or becasue i have to(front bumper damage).

OK first mod. Everyone said that te 05 GT shift **** would not fit the 99 but i found it listed to fit 86-07 so i bought it.

I know that i might get killed from you guys cause i let my car get so dirty but oh well.

i like the look of it but i must say it feels like plastic after getting used to the leather...or fake leather of the 99 shifter.

its also taller then the 99.

will take a little getting used to but i like the look of it so much more it'll just take a few days for it to feel natural.

I like the look a lot. It its too tall, then that is a good excuse for you to get a short throw! Just a question, but is that a french fry on your shifter boot in the second picture? lol

I approve

Might want to find some rubber grommets or stoppers to put in on the inside of the trunk to prevent water from entering though

Actually i think i'm just going to leave the holes. the reason being is that the holes are actually on the outside of the sealed area so it would just drain in the exact same spot as it water goes in the side trunk gaps anyway.
