I have seen the kit to make the shaker hood on our cars, I would think that this also changed out the manifold.

I thought about doing that but I changed my mind. I'm hoping to get a red GT and my friend maybe be getting a bullitt. I may just put cold air intake on it.

most companies only make a replacement for the intake elbow thats ontop of the lower intake. accufab and a few others make them. MM&FF had an article on them a few months ago

conv_stang is right. The only aftermarket intake products out for a 4.6L SOHC right now is CAI's, TB's, Upper Intake Plenum's (the elbow going into the plastic intake) and then the coveted Bullit Intake. The bullit, you should be looking at around $2k for the whole kit. Gains are minimal unless you are running ported heads and have the intake ported as well.

Fox Lake is working on and has a prototype "P-51" intake out and the few test dyno's i've seen, it makes some nice power! Also I believe BBK is working on a 4.6L intake.

Ok Yeah that is just the intake from steeda.

Here is what I found at Gefracing.com (ford dealer in Georgia).

Bullit intake $795 http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/merchan...ry_Code=BULLITT

BULLITT INTAKE INSTALLATION KIT - $795 http://www.gefracing.com/Merchant2/merchan...ry_Code=BULLITT

Thanks alot scott. Now another question and I know its off topic but I wanna do a 6-speed converison on my saleen when I buy one in 2 years and I was wondering if you have an ideas where I can find the right driveshaft for it. This saleen is gonna be fast so I also need some ideas on how to keep all the power to ground. Thanks again

i would try saleen. since they already use the 6spd in the Extreme. they would probably be the best choice. yeah BBK is coming out with an intake. MMFF said they should get a prottype soon to test on the SOHC. there isnt much for the DOHC either. guess companies didnt go bananas with the mod motors like they have with the 5.0. according to MMFF they got like 18HP to the crank with the accufab intake elbow and 75mm TB. i had been doing some searching for my 04. and there just wasnt much except blowers

There isnt any aftermarket intakes other than the FR500 or ported stock units for the DOHC 4.6. The FR500 setup would cost nearly 3k just for the intake. Cams are just as limited.

As far as a 6-speed, i dont buy into em. You arent getting a better o/d gear, just a more useable 5th gear. The 6th gear is usually a 0.53 ratio(rough guess) as where a normal 5-speed, the 5th gear has around the same gear ratio. The 5th on a 6-speed is usually around 0.80 so it is defintely more useable. To handle alot of power, i would prefer a geforce t-5 or a TKO II unit
