i have a 95 5.0 w/ cold air intake, 70 mm TB, shorty headers, new distributor cap and rotor, new plug wires, new longer duration cam, 24 lb injectors, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, among other things but these might have to do with the idle problem. idk. my car starts fine but will not idle at all at a stop in nuetral and with the clutch in. once i give it gas and start driving, it runs fine. the fuel pump humms when the ignition is turned on so that seems to be working.
i've tried:
adjusting fuel pressure
changing the Stator Assembly
adjusting idle RPM
taking it to a professional (for $100, he suggested adjusting the fuel pressure)
SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME! i am definitely a novice

Well, I didn't want to let you think no one was going to respond. We'll wait for someone smarter then me to REALLY help out.

My guess would have either been things you've already tried.

Question though, does it just stop, or sputter then stop?

What are the specs of the new cam you put in? Very lopey cams with long duration and high lift will cause a bad idle. Its also possible that your Idle Air Control valve/motor is bad and needs replaced.

The car will start fine, hold at about 800-900 RPM for a couple seconds and just die. no sputtering. The hyperlink takes you to some specs for the cam I put in (may or may not help). When I rebuilt the engine and put this cam in I knew it would have a rough idle but my mustang doesnt idle at all.

What kind of mass air meter do you have and is it calibrated for the 24 lb injectors? So if the masair meter is good thin check for vacuum leeks. Those are the most common problems.

The IAC has been mentioned and seems to be a common problem with the MOD motors,

additionally, I had a similar problem with a plugged fuel filter.
