Idle Acting Funny
#1
Hello all. Got a question for the experts. Yesterday after I changed my oil, I always go wash my baby and put a full tank of super in her. On the way home I noticed the engine was idling funny, in a sense like the throttle was stuck open but only stuck partially open.
What I mean partially open was the engine would idle at about 1200 to 1500 rpm's. Normally she idles about 800 or 900 rpm's. Then this morning, when I was driving to work after my class this morning, the engine was idling at about 2000 rpm's. If give her a little gas at a stand still, with the clutch jabbed in, the idle will go from 1800 or 2000 down at about 1100 rpm's (lower, but still not normal).
I thought yesterday that a little water had gotten into the distributor, but now I'm kind of worried. Anyone have the same trouble or a solution? I would take it in the shop, but I'm kind of strapped for cash being this close to Christmas.
Sorry, didn't mean to write a book. Thanks for your help.

may want to check your mass air sensor, make sure the wires havent gotten coated with oil or dirt. Also your idle air control valve could be acting up.

I'd also clean the actual plate in the throttle body. Since you have mass air, just spray some intake cleaner on a rag and wipe the blade, then spray the whole thing. have a friend hold the air intake tube up to the thottle body as you start the car up and keep the rpms up while your friend sprays it a little more and burns that crap out. I just did this and changed the fuel filter in myy '90 GT today and now she idles great.
