I just thought of another ?

I have some questions about my CAI, I plan to purchase, getting its air. I talked to a guy who sells K&N stuff. He said he could come up with me a kit like I want it. I want the open looking filter type. Sorry, I do not know the real words!

But if I move it from the fender well to the open, how will it get its air? Will it still come in through the fender well? I have no hood scoops so I don't know. Can someone please tell me if it will work? Thanks!!

Air filters its way in through the fenders and hood cowl, but the vast majority of air will enter the engine bay through the grille.

I am sorry but that did not mean anything to me. Sorry, my comprehension sucks these days!!! A simple yes or no would be great!!

Will it work with a heat shield, that kind I mean? I want a kind to where my filter shows. Not tucked into a fender and stuff. I am just going by what I have seen in the past on Mustangs. I do not know if they will work with my 5.0 motor. If they will not, please tell me no.

I think by what you said air would come in through the grill but I am not for sure. Thanks again for trying to help me!

Nice drawing. Was that a sarcastic remark? It helped anyhow!!

Oh and, I do not care about any performance gains. I can barely handle what my car has now and that is not that much!! My brain does not let me process the info driving fast. It is much smarter for me to just drive the speed limit.

I think you mean this kind of air cleaner (http://www.airaidsales.com/AIRAID-In...em/airaid.html).

It is not exposed to the wheelwell and is open to the engine bay. Air will enter the engine bay through the grille, as korinwoodo so beautifully illustrated.
