I got my 03 GT in August of 04 for 17,300, including sales tax. Had 16,000 miles even with every option on it including the Mach 1000 stereo. So 17K might be a bit high, and I've not seen an S-197 GT for anywhere near that down here. Most used 05+ GT's I think are way overpriced, but apparently are selling well enough that dealers can get those prices. A local dealer here had an 06 GT with 40K+ miles on it for 26 grand....they're out of their mind IMHO, but who knows, someone will probably come along and pay it. Bottom line, if you really like the red one, that price isn't bad. You might can do better, but it's not all that bad either. If you aren't in a rush, look around a bit, you *may* wind up finding a heck of a deal.

The newer ones ride much smoother i think. Dealer wanted 12g for mine and i have 30k on it. I thought he was smokeing so i didnt deal for the 07 gtr conv i had in mind. Be sure to look. I had my eye on this one for the whole summer, bought it in Nov and ended up with a $2500 discount when the 05's came out. I have one more payment left .

Alright, here is what I am going to do, the dealer has been sitting on the car for a couple of months, hes slowly dropping the price. When it first went up for sale it was close to $18,000, then he dropped it to $17,493, now it is $16,993. I am going to wait until January and if he still has it and the price drops enough, I'll work on some wiggle room with him. Hopefully I can get this car for $16,000 and get $5500 for my trade in. If he sells it by January I'll just get a new one. I like them both so I am willing to take the chance of him being desperate.

I'd just like to get a little more cash in my pocket. Im self employed so I gotta make sure I have some extra cash set aside for repairs and monthly payments incase work gets slow. After I take care of some of the bills I have now, and a little more cash in pocket then I will do it. But yes I could get the car right now if I wanted.

I think he was talking about you saying "Jewing him down" on the price... so i dont think it was the grammar that was really the problem...

I really want to stay out of this....but just for the record....The use of the word "ignorant" was not done correctly.

.....ok....I'll never visit this thread again....ok, maybe a little just to check to see what car the dude bought.

Unless he/she is Jewish. If that is the case then you just insulted their family, religion, heritage, and lifestyle. But since you spelling was so far off the mark, I am going to presume that you didn't know that the word was actually "Jew" not jue, and you didn't actually realize that you made a biggoted comment.

"now you know, and knowing is half the battle...GI Joe!!"

yeah that was kind of ignorant to use the term "Jew" especially in your context.

Basically, your statement was ignorant/offensive and the bad grammar was icing on the cake.

Ignorant is the right word.

...now, let's all kiss and make up.

Head over to www.edmunds.com or www.kbb.com. Get the acessed value of the car before you buy it. If you're buying from a dealer, they are just waiting for you to bend over. No matter what kind of way they wrap it, that much for a 3 year old car is a lot considering new it was probably around $23k.

But go to one of those sites, it's helped me a lot when I was searching for my 00' GT

Just to give you an idea. I bought my 99 GT (which had the special edition package) with 47k for $10,000 flat. You can do a lot better by searching autotrader or cars.com and getting privately sold vehicle.
