Arin, that Cobra probably have a lot of miles.
Its hard to beleive that car like that went from $33,000 to $18,000 in 1 year.
Classifieds probably failed to mention a wreck or two.

They just wanna bait you into the dealership.

18k is way too low for a 2003. What happens a lot is someone beats the poop out of it and then trades it in. Who knows the whole motor could be shot. A local dealer around here was asking 15k for a 2003 stage 2 Roush Stang. The catch was the block was cracked. Its ridiculous what people will try to sell.

I always thought the problems with the cobras occured in 1999 when they were putting less power to the ground than a GT. So Svt didnt produce the cobras in 2000, or possibly very limited in 2000(not sure though), and then they came back ready to go in 01. At least thats the only major problems with the cobras I ever heard of, I dont know if there was another set of problems in 01.

no, more than a gt but not much more

i hate 01 and 99 cobras, 03-04 are much better. 15k reserfve NOT met is a wicked high price because u can get a brand new mach 1 for 23k at a dealer now.
What dealer has a brand new Mach 1 in stock right now?
look

There were Cobras by SVT in 2000, but that was Cobra R.

I don't like 99, 01 and 02 Cobra either. They could be easily outrun by Camaro SS and Trans Am WS6.
their was only a 00 cobra R, a 99 cobra, and an 03-04 cobra and then their were 93-98 cobras too. the 00 R was a strong car. the 02 aussie cobra is the same as a 01 american cobra

Back when Ford did "The Fix", the intake swap got me 12rwhp, I had already replaced the factory catback with the Bassani Quiet Thunder setup, I just decided to "tweak" the factory HP rating along the way. I like my fix better than thiers :P

Do you have a source for any of these problems? As well as the 9psi?As far as I know, they are some of the very best Naturally Aspirated motors Ford has produced in the last 20 years (not including the Cobra R's), and they are certainly durable.

Not to insult you but don't take everything you read online or things that people tell you at face value. (For example, it took me far too long to realize that just because someone is a teacher, doesn't always make them right. Sounds dorky/naive I know, but it was a lesson I learned the hard way).

amen. i think bad pony knows a little bit more about what his motor can handle than someone who isnt old enough to drive yet.

i never said i knew more than joey, i was asking, is it true that those motors (due to the bottom end) cannot handle more than 9psi, and how is it with the nitrous? any detonation? thats what i am asking, i didnt say i knew more than him. The 9 psi thing is from when a few magazines that put kenne bells and vortechs on 99 cobras, they said they only ran 9psi because of the weak bottom end, i have also heard it a few times on the net and i was wondering how strong they actually are?

I saw 13-14psi back when I had the last dynotune and the A/F was fat/rich. A good tuner is critical for running boost on the 99-01's IMO. I used Chris Johnson of JMS.

No, I only use the 30hp shot when I go to the track for the torque increase. I also have my spark plugs gapped down quite a bit (can't remember off the top of my head what the actual gap is)

Nice truck, I've always been partial to black vehicles but it's enough stress trying to keep 1 black car clean, so I went with red.

Thanks for the comment Andy
