If your very lucky. The tuner will give you the most gains and is dependent on the type of tune.

Yep. It worked better in the fox's with the MAF but the newer computer systems can't be just tricked anymore. They don't do anything without a tune now.

True OBD1 cars where much easier to mod to a point but even then a cai didn't do much of anything. In stock form bumping the timing and gears woke them up more.

American muscle claims 20hp-30trq on a stock motor but every car is different !

Nominal horsepower gains until you build the motor up enough to change the compression ratios and (or) go forced induction. Wouldn't a throttle body be the very last thing you want to put in? Stock internals wouldnt benefit a great deal from a bigger TB. Put your money into nominal gains on the RAM AIR INTAKE (people calling them cold air is beyond redonkulous at this point) and put in suspension components as you keep modifying the motor!!!

you don't have to change the compression ratio although I will admit I'm not all that savy on the mod motors but I can build a pushrod motor w/o changing the compression and get close to 300rwhp N/A w/o much effort.

What do you guys suggest I do? She's pretty much stock and I know a guy who's a ford master mechanic so I'm pretty much open for anything.

depends on how much you want to dig into the motor like heads, cams , etc.

I'll go with basic bang for the buck 1st..

GEARS, they don't add hp but they are so over looked. you want your car to have off the line grunt and pull much better than it is now then gears. I'm thinking you have 3.27s so 3.73s will give you a little more bump but 4.10 will give it a nice feel.

Drop in K&N filter into your stock box / remove silencer

get a better flowing mid pipe and cat back

option: long tubes ( more hp ( 10-15 easy with a good mid pipe and torque over shorties) don't bother with shorties at that point just go mid to cat back with stock headers

tune

(but if you tear into the motor and add better flowing heads, cams, larger injectors, fuel pump, etc go to a shop for tune )

SC and gears would do it but get a good tune at a shop you will need more than just the SC.

I have a 04 GT with 78mm throttle body, CAI, short tube headers, Magnaflow X-pipe & catback exhaust, Comp Cams stage II cams, and typhoon intake. Had it dyno tuned and got 267 rwhp and 280 rwtq. My base line before the dyno tune was 228 rwhp. If your going to invest alot in mods have it dyno tuned. I gained nearly 40 rwhp. I'm putting in a Procharger kit this spring, hoping to get 350-400 rwhp.
