How to change rear gear oil on Mach 1

How to change rear gear oil on Mach 1

I am changing my daughter's 03 Mach 1 rear gear oil. I need to know if there are anything weird? Also any one know the torq on the bolts?

Loosen all the bolts, and then remove the bottom half of them. Grab a pry bar or screwdriver and shove it up into the bottom. It will smell horrible

Sorry, I can't help on the torque rating, the guy that did it for me wailed on it with an impact (that's not my suggestion at all, he has 30 years of experience)

Hey I just did my Mach 1 last week as well as replaced my pinion seal. It's very simple they're all 13mm bolts. Just make sure you remove the old gasket on the cover and spread a new thin bead of gray rtv around the cover. And just get the bolts tight and they'll be fine. The exact torque isn't super important in this application.

Nope just remember as soon as those bottoms are lose nasty gear oil gushes out. Razor blade the factory seal off make sure you clean the magnet in the cover. It comes off. Spray gears real well with brake clean..etc...clean inside of cover. Like they said above a nice bead of rtv. And make sure you get manufacturer recommended fluid.
