Hey guys, I was just wondering if this is a good deal on a used mustang or not?

I live in Virginia near DC, the car is in Ohio, near kentucky. Here are the specs

Black 2000 GT
Gray leather
Auto
Premium Sound
19,000 miles
hardtop

for $12,500?

they say its in great condition, the only reason theyre selling it is because the family needs a truck. They've been trying to sell it for the past couple years but theres no market for msutangs in ohio.

any words of wisdom?

1. run a carfax,

2. it is a black car, check it over on a sunny day. Unless it has a perfect paintjob, you will see any bodywork done to it.

3. get it checked by a mechanic, etc.

I would never buy a car over the phone. Take a road trip to check it out.. make sure you have a friend with you to play devil's advocate so you don't get yourself a lemon.

also, i want a manual, but this ones an auto. can 3.73 gears still be put on an auto 4speed tranny?

I ran 4.10's on my 2000 automatic GT I had. It was still fine for a daily driver.

However, if you are really wanting a manual, go ahead and find one. That was the one thing I regreted about my GT. If it had been a manual, i would have never bought the cobra.

not sure if I would keep it black, probably wouldn't look right for what I want to do. But I like the look of the 99/00 spoiler when it's moved back, however in the stock position i think it looks kind of odd.
