What kind of gas mileage do you guys seem to get with hardcore, or easy driving?

pushing 18/city...16 if my foot gains weight. Haven't done enough hwy driving in the 4 weeks since I got it to get a firm estimate. It's still better than my 02 Wrangler was on gas!

Had my baby out on the highway up to The Cape this weekend...I was doing better then 20 mpg...and surprisingly, I seemed to get better mileage on the way back then I did on the way up...But I'm attributing that to the top being down on the ride up, and up on the ride back...Just for the record I was cruisin at about 80 most of the time

I usually get 17/18 MPG around town. The MOST I've ever gotten is a little over 20. This is with the 32V DOHC.

I get around 17 in town. 0 mpg at a stoplight really cuts into your average. 22-24 on the freeway depending upon speed. And that's on 87. Not too bad, I think.

My car is a 95 GT vert with AODE.

Smoke, I just noticed that you're in Tokyo. I was in high school in Yokohama when the Mustang first came out. A Japanese friend of mine imported a gold one. It was the first Mustang I had seen in person.

Thanks for bringing back some good memories.

B) A common question, about mpg. In an earlier post I brought up the fact that adding a K&N air filter raised my mpg from around 18 combined to around 24 combined! A 20 percent increase.

Really! That's amazing. Any other mods other than the air filter.

I used to gig frogs in Burke when I was a kid and there was nothing there. I lived in Springfield at the time.

Before people get to excited about K&N ... I added one myself, and it didn't change my mileage a bit.

I'm sure it won't hurt though.

That's what I thought. I have never heard of that kind of increase from just an air filter.

I usually get close to the same as Jeff. Maybe a little less.

In the "40 years of Mustang" special issue magazine they did a cross country (and back) drive in a Mach 1 (stick) and said they got 25mpg hwy.

With my cobra, I get about 14-16 city, but i shift at 3500-4k regular driving. That is on my agessive n/a tune. On the stock tune its more like 15-16 or so. On the freeway, i get 24 or so with the stock tune. Aggresive tune is around 20 or so. Now if i'm out just riding around playing, i'm probably only getting 10mpg cause i go WOT alot.
